Privacy Policy
How LocalConvert protects your data through fundamental zero-knowledge, 100% client-side computing.
100% Client-Side Processing — No files are ever uploaded, recorded, or saved to remote servers.
When you use LocalConvert, all file decoding, rendering, transcoding, and compression takes place exclusively inside your computer or mobile device's local web browser memory (RAM). Your files never leave your device.
1 Information We Do Not Collect
Traditional online converters require uploading your confidential PDFs, photos, medical records, or proprietary artwork to cloud servers. LocalConvert does not operate file ingestion servers.
- We do not receive, inspect, copy, or retain your files.
- We do not log filenames, file contents, metadata, EXIF information, or image dimensions.
- We do not generate user fingerprint profiles or cross-site tracking identifiers.
2 In-Memory Execution and Sandbox Isolation
When you drag and drop files into any LocalConvert tool:
-
Local Buffer Ingestion: Files are read into a local
ArrayBufferor HTML5Blobin your browser memory. - Client-Side Engine Execution: Engines such as PDF.js, pdf-lib, Mammoth, docx, heic2any, and HTML5 Canvas 2D execute entirely within your browser's V8 / JavaScript virtual machine.
-
Instant Local Download: Output files are packaged into temporary in-memory Object URLs (
blob:https://...) that trigger direct native file saving. - Automatic Memory Reclamation: Once you click clear, reload, or navigate away from the page, the memory buffers are automatically purged by your browser's garbage collector.
3 Cookies and Local Storage
LocalConvert does not use persistent tracking cookies, marketing beacons, or third-party ad networks. We may store lightweight non-personal UI state (such as your chosen compression slider level or active tool preference) in your browser's standard localStorage to remember your workflow between visits.
4 GDPR, CCPA, and Global Compliance by Architecture
Because LocalConvert never transmits personal data or customer file payloads to any server, our service is inherently compliant with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and HIPAA requirements by mathematical and architectural design.
